Eleven Days!!
Hello friends!
I will be studying in Rome for the Spring 2011 semester. This blog is a way for me to keep you all updated on my life, and if that doesn't interest you, at least the updates will let you know I am alive, and not lost, stranded, or killed on some foreign island :).
I won't be able to take speech pathology classes, instead I will be taking another Italian class, a class on Italian food and wine (I'll get to sample both!), Theology of Pilgrimage (I'm actually looking forward to this one), and a history class, which will let me get into museums and historical sites around Rome! I have no classes on Friday, which will let me travel as much as possible, well as far as my stash of cash will take me!
I'll be attending the Loyola of Chicago Rome Center, and living in a dorm with other American students. There are about 200 from all over the US, but I'll also be meeting non-Americans. The school is in Rome, but on the outskirts, about four miles from the historical center, and about 2 from the spanish steps. It is right near the Olympic Stadium....perfect to see calcio (soccer) games.
I'm not exactly ready, although I have started packing, which to be so prepared, is abnormal for me. I just need to buy some of the basics, throw it all together and off I go. I have a crazy flight, where I not only transfer flights, but also airports. Luckily, this occurs in the United States, and since if you know me, you know I have no sense of direction, English will get me around.
I guess that's the basics, if you'd like a postcard please send me your address, if I do not already have it...family I have yours.
Ciao for now!
